Bubinga and Wenge Dining Table
Posted on February 19, 2006

This dining table was built for a client to meet their needs.  The couple liked to entertain and had a small dining room and the husband was quite tall.  After doing a mock up to see how the table would fit in the room, the design was finalized.  The top is 50 x 42" and expands to 70".  The wenge legs sweep outwards from the corner and have bubinga banding on the feet.

Most expansion tables have a removable  leaf that needs to be stored separately.  This can lead to damage.  For this table I used a butterfly leaf design where the top splits and the leaf opens into position.  I was extremely pleased with the elegance of the design.

The table expanded showing the beautiful figure of the bubinga.
